The Japan Fashion Week Organization declined to name a winner of its main award for emerging designers this year, leaving an opening-day slot at Tokyo's fashion week empty when the season began on Monday.

Seoul Fashion Week opened on Tuesday with its runway split between two venues for the first time, and with the clothes on one of them made buyable by phone before the show has finished.
